The inside scoop on how Aussie subcontractors have used Neo to get more done this year.
If you were anywhere near a job site this year, you know the deal, short deadlines, tight margins, labour shortages and constant pressure from head contractors. Through all of that, subcontractors across Australia kept showing up, kept projects on track and kept delivering with quality. We’re proud Neo played a small part in this story.
How crews used Neo to stay ahead
Across concrete, formwork, steel fixing, post-tensioning civil and other speciality subcontractor trades, usage – and value – hit new heights. The numbers speak for themselves – and they show just how much work ran through the Neo Platform this year.
- Over 4,000 new projects created
That’s thousands of jobs planned and delivered with more structure, cleaner communication and better visibility for supervisors and project managers. - 160,000 site diary entries completed
Crews logged variations, delays, defects and daily progress without relying on paperwork or late-night catch-ups. Less chasing, more down-time. - Over 850,000 notifications sent to field staff
Clear instructions sent straight to the phone meant fewer interruptions and far less back-and-forth. On average, clients tell us that using Neo cuts phone admin by around 50%, which frees up hours every week for planning and problem-solving.
When you add that up across the year, it is a complete shift in how teams run their jobs.
What subcontractors told us
This year, we spent more time capturing the stories behind how subcontractors actually use Neo day to day. These weren’t polished narratives. Just straight talk about what was working and what wasn’t before they made the switch.
Here are two great stories from the crews who shared their experience.
BSECC – Civil, Vic & SA
General Manager Jack Sheldon explained how the team used to run everything through WhatsApp. Each day, crew members would send their hours in a long message chain, and supervisors had to scroll back through, pull out the details and re-enter everything into spreadsheets. It “worked” technically, but it was messy.
After switching to Neo, Jack can schedule shifts, make changes on the fly and know exactly where everyone is meant to be. No chasing. No guesswork. The whole site now runs off one clear system instead of piecing together information from messages and spreadsheets.

GVK Group – Steel fixing & post tension, NSW & Qld
For Jesse Gagro, the difference was felt on day one. Before Neo, the crew relied on individual text messages the night before, and the foreman would take a photo of the sign-in sheet each morning just to confirm who was actually on site.
It was manual, time consuming and easy for details to slip through the cracks.
With Neo, scheduling, messages and updates all talk to each other. The team can see who is where, what is happening across their sites and what needs attention. It saves time, reduces back-and-forth and gives them proper visibility across the whole operation. Neo doesn’t replace how they work – it complements it and makes it easier to manage.

Product improvements driven by customer feedback
Everything we built this year came directly from your feedback. You told us what slowed you down, and we got to work building it. Here’s a recap of the winning releases making work in the office and on site that much easier:
- Smarter scheduling that cuts the back-and-forth
Moving bookings on your phone, seeing public holidays and RDOs in your schedule, searching staff by Employee ID and copying staff between projects made it faster to keep work flowing without firing up the laptop. - Neo Field App improvements
We launched an entire new app for fieldworkers and supervisors with a better user experience. Updates include enhancements to speed up tasks and to give more visibility to things like crew check-in & check out time, a clearer process for timesheet competition with auto-calculated hours (so mistakes don’t creep in!) and enhanced shift instructions all within the app! - Compliance that runs itself in the background
Staff Compliance went live this year, helping businesses stay ahead of licence and ticket expiries. Workers can show their compliance documents on site via the Neo Field App and get notified before anything lapses. - Faster admin with less messing about in spreadsheets
Importing Xero staff details through the Admin Console, exporting full staff lists, filtering and searching by skill tags, fixing leave records and tidying old entries became much simpler and quicker. - A Project Calendar built for busy subcontractors, not office comfort
A full Month View, calendar filtering, mobile-responsive controls, cleaner booking workflows, skill tag visibility and faster ways to find projects made it easier to plan crews, shift work around and stay ahead of changes.
